2020 Finalists

Hilary WARDHAUGH

Artist statement: Over the most recent lockdown I decided to fill some time by photographing the most inane boring objects to find beauty in them.

This A4 piece of paper was one object that I challenged myself with photographing. Other objects included: staples, my dirty washing basket and face masks.

It filled time, which I felt was interesting in itself but it also allowed me time to think and create and time to consider how the very ordinary and mundane can be perceived quite aesthetically differently when presented differently.
