Artist statement: My work is concerned with the individual’s assemblage of their personal reality through attire and material belongings. I see dress and objects as their personal choices and desires for their public and private persona and seek to frame that relationship. My documentary practice is informed by years working within the fashion industry, predominantly in New York for both magazines and advertising. This period fed my fascination with the meaning and power of clothing.
This portrait of Milo is part of an ongoing series, Untitled (women), consisting of photographs of women within my extended network of friends. These are women I find compelling in their power and knowledge.
