Artist statement: I use photography as a tool to document the unspoken stories around me. I create images that call attention to things that other people may overlook. This exploration of the overlooked helps me explore and engage more deeply with where I am in space and time. To me my photographs are like a physical mediation, it gives me inner peace.
This particular image, ‘The truth – self-portrait’ is a part of a series that I am currently working on, something very emotional and personal at the same time. I think we all tell lies about ourselves, about our careers and we are afraid of revealing them, but the truth is always within you and you cannot escape from that. I am the truth.
