Visiting our gallery and shop
We welcome all visitors to the gallery and shop and ask that you treat staff and visitors with courtesy and respect. Council is committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for all when the gallery and shop is open.
Mask wearing is now optional when visiting our gallery and shop.

Safe use of our services
- Do not enter the gallery of shop if unwell
- Use hand sanitizer on entry
- Please keep a distance of 1.5m from other visitors whenever possible
- Receive service at the screened service points only.
Behaviour
Council considers the following behaviours unacceptable:
- Unsociable behaviour such as harassment, aggression or the use of inappropriate language
- Acting in a manner that creates a nuisance, endangers any other person, or interferes with the use and enjoyment of the gallery or shop by any other person
- Acting in a manner that is contrary to a sign, or contrary to a lawful direction of MGA staff
- Interference or damage to artworks, equipment or shop stock
- MGA staff have the right to ask people behaving in an unacceptable manner to leave the building in accordance with City of Monash Local Law No 3 (PDF, 843KB)
- People who consistently behave in an unacceptable manner may be refused entry to the gallery or shop for a specified period, depending on the circumstances and nature of the unacceptable conduct
- Children under the age of 11 years must not be unsupervised by a responsible adult to safeguard children and young people
- People using the internet must accept and abide by the Computer and Internet/WiFi Conditions of Use.
Can I take photos?
- Photography and filming is permitted in the gallery for personal or study use only
- No flash photography or use of tripods
- Please be mindful of other visitors’ enjoyment
- If taking photographs or filming in the gallery you must have permission and consent from the subjects
- Do not use phones or cameras in the toilet.
Failure to meet these guidelines may result in MGA staff asking you to leave. If you are being photographed or filmed without your permission, please let a staff member know. Monash values all children and young people. We are committed to being a child safe organisation.

- catch the train to Glen Waverley Station (45mins from Flinders Street)
- catch the 754 Bus to Wheelers Hill Hotel stop (11 mins)
- cross the road at the lights and walk into MGA's parklands (2mins)
Pakenham/Cranbourne Train Line:
- catch the train to Oakleigh Station (25 mins from Flinders Street)
- catch the 693 Bus (Belgrave) to Wheelers Hill Hotel stop (15mins)
- cross the road at the lights and walk into MGA's parklands (2mins)
OR
- catch the train to Oakleigh Station (25mins from Flinders Street)
- catch the 804 Bus (Dandenong via Wheelers Hill) to Wheelers Hill Shopping centre (25 mins) - travels via Monash University, Clayton campus
- walk up through the shopping centre carpark, along a paved path into MGA's parklands (3 mins)
FROM EASTERN SUBURBS
From along the Belgrave/Lilydale Train Line
- From Ferntree Gully Station catch 693 Bus (Belgrave to Oakleigh) to Jells Road (20 minutes) then cross the road at the lights and walk into MGA's parklands (2mins)
OR
- From Boronia Station catch 753 Bus (Bayswater to Glen Waverley) to Jells Road (36mins) then cross the road at the lights and walk into MGA's parklands (2mins)
OR
- From Belgrave Station: catch 693 Bus (Belgrave to Oakleigh) to Jells Road (40 mins) then cross the road at the lights and walk into MGA's parklands (2mins)
From Rowville
- From Stud Park Shopping Centre catch 754 Bus (Rowville to Glen Waverley) to Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre (16 mins) then walk up through the shopping centre carpark, along a paved path into MGA's parklands (3 mins)
